Check out a few pictures from Musical Theatre's Spring Show Nine.
NINE is based on Federico Fellini’s iconic and autobiographical film 8 ½. The story concerns the great film director Guido Contini (the Fellini stand-in) who is facing a personal and artistic crisis on the verge of his fortieth birthday. As he struggles with what is blocking his new film, he must confront the women of his present and his past. With book by Arthur Kopit and music and lyrics by Maury Yeston, the original 1982 Broadway production, directed and choreographed by Tommy Tune, won five out of twelveTony awards (including Best Musical). Our production is directed and choreographed by guest artist and former faculty member Tommy Rapley (who previously helmed the Academy’s productions of The Spitfire Grill and Spring Awakening) with musical direction by Michael Kaish, who most recently conducted Ride the Cyclone at Chicago Shakespeare Theatre. The show features all the upperclassmen students of the Department.
