Quinn Bailey (Media Arts, ‘16) is off to Loyola Marymount in Los Angeles in the fall to pursue filmmaking. He was accepted with a presidential scholarship in the honors program! For four years, Quinn has been a creative force and leader throughout the Academy and within the Media Arts Department. This year he showed "First Lady of Film" at the Media Arts Winter Juried Festival and closed the Department’s Senior Show with "The Woman with the .45." It is bittersweet to see him go, and we’ll miss him next year.
“High school can be difficult to navigate for many kids, but Quinn found his niche both academically and in his passion for film at the academy.” said Quinn’s mother, Liz. “I don’t think that dedication to both would have happened without this school and its leadership. You can’t put a price tag on it.”
It has been special to have Quinn and his family be part of the Academy community, both academically and beyond.
“After the Media Arts shows, Quinn would hear from students and families in other departments, his academic teachers and from the school administration about his work. It is a community where people value the whole person. You don’t see that everywhere. His strengths have been noticed.”
Congratulations to Quinn and his family, and good luck next year!
