Academy alum and hit songwriter Justin Tranter hosted The Academy All School Showcase at The Harris Theater on May 24th. The event featured students from the Dance, Media Arts, Music, Musical Theatre, Theatre, and Visual Arts departments presenting top work from the 2015-2016 school year. Mr. Tranter also performed some of his biggest hits with current Academy students.
Justin Tranter graduated from The Academy in 1998 and now is one of the most sought after songwriters in pop music. After gaining popularity recording and touring with his band Semi-Precious Weapons, including opening for Lady Gaga on her Monster Ball Tour, Justin has gone on to write hits like Justin Bieber’s “Sorry,” Gwen Stefani’s “Used to Love You,” and Fall Out Boy’s “Centuries.”
